From Left to right, the first collage is called “The Seventh String”. It shows a fire red electric guitar with a great white heron. The artist’s inspiration for creating this trilogy, started when she saw the 24” x 72” blank canvas at the art supply store. Raven Skye thought it was the perfect size for a guitar collage and then the idea grew from there. Ms. McDonough grew up with the rock band Aerosmith and had Steven Tyler ( she is a big fan) and his band in mind, while working on all 3 collages.
The middle collage is called “ Under A Blue Moon” . The artist was inspired to add a parrot to the top of the acoustical guitar after visiting Jungle Gardens in Sarasota, FL. This 75 acres land reservation in the middle of the city has a parrot and bird rescue program set among Florida native landscape. Raven Skye was able to get up close and personal to a flock of Flamingo’s which inspired the collage “ Just Passing Through”.
The bass guitar and eagle to the right is called “Catch Of The Day” all the local Florida restaurants offer a catch of the day on their menu’s. Since the American Bald Eagles who live in the Venice, FL. area have the option of catching one of the many different fish swimming through this collage, the artist thought the name was fitting.
